In the year 2013, there was one style rule we millennial women—including Emma Watson, 32—swore by: When in doubt, add a black blazer. This was true for all occasions, from nights out (yep, some of us wore blazers to the club or, in my case, frat parties), to the office, to brunch with the girlies at the dawn of the Avocado Toast Era (ATE).
The reflex to reach for that trusty blazer, it seems, never really dies. Watson gave us the 2022 version of the add-a-black-blazer trend on Thursday, September 15, when she attended the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women Dinner in New York City.
She topped her sheer white Alexander McQueen gown with a classically cut blazer, sleeves rolled up and all. The new face of Prada Beauty layered the lace dress over nude briefs and completed the look with a studded clutch and chunky black sandals with silver grommet and buckle details.
