Independent Russian paper is shut down by court

Novaya Gazeta, one of the last independent news outlets still publishing inside Russia, was stripped of its media license on Monday (September 5), and in effect banned from operating. It was founded with money from the recently-deceased Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev’s Nobel Peace Prize. Matthew Larotonda reports.
