Hyderabad: The Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO) on Friday organised a placement drive for veterans, Veernaris — wives of deceased personnel —and dependants of armed forces personnel hailing from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The event was held at Golden Palm Sainik Bhavan, Secunderabad, under the aegis of HQ Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA).
The drive was held as part of International Women’s Day Celebrations, to fill 40 vacancies sponsored by a logistics company Delhivery with the AWPO regional office here.
All three phased interviews including initial zero test online were conducted for 145 ex-servicemen (ESM) and 12 Veernaris and dependents from both the states. Of these, 28 candidates including three Veernaris were selected after a rigorous selection process.
Brig. K. Somashankar, officiating General Officer Commanding, TASA, encouraged the Veeranaris and ESM to prepare themselves to take up jobs in the private sector and contribute in growth of the nation with their skills.
