Utah polices to reimburse $3K charged for Petito-Laundrie bodycam videos

The Utah police department that released bodycam footage recording their stop of Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie will supposedly refund $3,000 in costs it gathered from news outlets due to the fact that the charges broke state law.

The videos showed Moab cops talking to the couple on Aug. 12, after a 911 caller told police officers he saw a guy slapping a female outside a natural supermarket, weeks prior to their cross country van trip concerned a tragic end.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported that the fees for the footage amounted to about three times what the department had expected to gather this in records charge earnings, mentioning a city budget plan document.

The first video the department launched showed Petito, 22, crying and stating that the couple had actually been having “little arguments” that day. A 2nd launched days later showed Petito telling police officers Laundrie had assaulted her.
