West Ham target is expected to leave but issues at current club cloud issue

West Ham target Armando Broja is “expected” to leave Chelsea this summer but upheaval at the club is hampering the situation, Alex Crook reports.

The Albanian striker is thought to be David Moyes’ preference for help in the forward position but so far it appears that has been no bid from the Hammers.

It now seems that may not have been for want of trying as the situation at Stamford Bridge since Todd Boehly took over running the club is causing confusion.

In his latest “Transfer Notebook” talkSPORT reporter Crook says that Blues players who are due to move this window are being left in “limbo” by the situation.

He writes: “One boardroom bigwig from a rival Premier League club told talkSPORT they are struggling to make contact with Stamford Bridge officials to put in an offer for a Chelsea player.

“Striker Armando Broja – top of West Ham boss David Moyes’s summer shopping list – is among a clutch of players expected to leave West London this summer.”

Stasis

Since the American took over at Chelsea he has replaced Bruce Buck and Marina Granovskaia as both chairman and de factor sporting director.

But if that means that business is being hampered through the basic inability of other clubs to make contact then it is a bad sign for them.

It is also in no way a positive for the Irons if it gets in the way of the manager being able to make a proper play for one of his top targets.

The Scot badly needs to bring in a new striker and, provided the price is right, Broja is potentially a good bet after a decent loan spell at Southampton last year.

There is a thought that he might be in line for a role in the first-team under Thomas Tuchel, but considering the money they are trying to spend they will no doubt have to listen to offers for players who are not certain starters.

The Irons can’t wait around for the whole window for them to get their act together in west London so if this situation drags on they may be forced to look elsewhere.
